Rise joins SME Climate Hub

Rise has joined the SME Climate Hub and committed to halve greenhouse gas emissions before 2030 and achieve net zero before 2050.

The Small and Medium-size Enterprises (SME) Climate Hub is a one-stop-shop climate action platform to cut carbon emissions, build business resilience and adopt the role of a climate champion. The Climate Hub provides a range of accessible tools, incentives and other resources designed to make it easy for SMEs to cut carbon emissions and bring innovative green solutions to market.

Co-hosted by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Exponential Roadmap Initiative, the We Mean Business Coalition and the United Nations Race to Zero Campaign the SME Climate Hub has received support from several supply chain leaders., including BT Group, Ericsson, IKEA, Telia and Unilever, as well as funding support from Amazon and Verizon.

Rise has become a signatory to the UN-recognised ‘SME Climate Commitment’ which forms part of the SME Climate Hub. In making the ‘Climate Commitment’ Rise has pledged to:

  • halve its carbon emissions by 2030

  • achieve net-zero emissions by 2050

  • regularly report on progress towards these aims.

By undertaking the SME Climate Commitment, the pledge will seek to address one of the six priorities of the Rise Together Strategy 2021-2031 which includes tackling our climate crisis, with physical activity supporting the drive to reduce the rate of global warming and limit climate change.
